Meet Tony Mantini
Co-Founder and Director
Hello. I'm Tony, Co-Founder and Director of Immerse and Inspire. I have a passion for working with Deaf / HoH young adults. Immerse and Inspire was an idea my colleague, Melanie and I had. Together we created Immerse and Inspire.
Some things about myself; I am profoundly deaf; I wear hearing aids. I grew up Aural. I started learning Auslan when I was in high school. I attended a mainstream school that had a deaf facility so I could communicate with deaf friends at school.
When I finished school I had a few different jobs. I was a cleaner at Crown for a couple of years. I set up my own business as a tiler, I’m a 3rd generation tiler and did this for over 20 years.
After 20 years I was motivated and inspired to have a career change wanting to work and support Deaf and Hard of Hearing people. My success working with young deaf / HoH was evident. I was given an opportunity that I took on, as a SLES Case Manager which gave me the knowledge and experience to give me the inspiration to start ‘Immerse and Inspire’ with Melanie.
I have a family. My partner, who is deaf and I have been together for 20 years. We share two boys. Our fur baby is a dog named Roxy.
We are one eyed Collingwood fans. Go pies!
My hobbies are AFL and soccer. I love motorsports, cars, outings with the family, travelling, going on day trips, fishing and enjoy being outdoors.
